Jour 36 et 37 / Day 36 and 37 - Drive to Haines Junction / Kathleen Lake (King's Throne Trail)

Nous nous rendons a Haines Junction (CAD), depart du Parc National de Kluane. C'est la-bas que se trouve le Mont Logan (5959m), plus haute montagne du Canada.
During the day we drive (159km) to Haines Junction (CAD), starting point of the Kluane National Park. There lies Mount Logan (5959m), the highest mountain of Canada.

Nous passons la fin de la journee a Kathleen Lake. nous profitons de la plage et de la petite brise sur le lac. Le temps est magnifique. Nous passons la nuit dans le camping proche du lac (nous sommes maintenant habitues au trou qui fait office de toilettes et a ne pas avoir d'eau courante). La temperature diurne est de 25 degres C et la temperature nocturne est de 3 degres C. En gros Denis porte un short et un Odlo, Sandrine porte un bas de Odlo, un haut de Odlo, des chaussettes, un bonnet et son pyjama habituel pour avoir chaud ;-).
We enjoy Kathleen Lake with its little breeze and have a nice walk along the beach. We spend the night at their campground (we are now used to pit toilets, no running water, campfire). The weather is beautiful, temperature during the day about 25 degrees C and temperature at night 3 degrees C. This means Denis sleeps with a short and an Odlo underwear... and this means Sandrine sleeps with socks, Odlo underpants and underwear, T-Shirt and pyjama as well as a warm hat ;-).

Le jour suivant nous partons pour une marche demarrant vers le Kathleen Lake. Depuis le bas de la piste nous apercevons au loin Mont Kennedy. La denivellation totale de la marche est de (seulement) 543m jusqu'au cirque. Nous tentons la piste (non balisee) jusqu'au sommet, mais rapidement elle devient trop dangereuse et nous rebroussons chemin. La vue depuis la-haut est extraordinaire.
The next day we go for a hike that starts at Kathleen Lake. From the beginning of the trail we can see Mount Kennedy. The total elevation was (only) of 543m up to the King's Throne, a mountain cirque. We try to follow the route (unmarqued trail) to reach the summit but the way is far too dangerous. Therefore we decide to go down shortly after the start of the route. The view from the cirque is extraordinary.

En fin d'apres-midi nous allons a Pine Lake pour monter le camp pres du lac du meme nom. En chemin nous nous arretons a l'aeroport. En effet, cela fait plusieurs jours (semaines) que nous voulons faire un vol pour decouvrir les magnifiques paysages vus du ciel. Nous aurons cette chance dans la soiree (depart 19h30).
In the late afternoon we drive to Pine Lake campground. Our site is next to the lake (and the beach). On our way we stop at the airport because we would like to go for a flightseeing around the glaciers and the Kluane mountain ranges.
